The story
Front and back end development to create a representative web presence for world’s largest global renewable energy company.
With the aim to establish SunEdison on a global scale, we developed a fully responsive global website for SunEdison including its sister-sites for corporate, residential and small commercial purposes. Hurdling the challenge to develop a flexible and scalable website platform that is managed through a CMS and can easily be mirrored to other countries and/or markets.
Optimizing the previously existing website design which was not mobile compatible, we first turned to the drawing boards: we wireframed, exported asset libraries and tested on every possible device to ensure final quality of this crucial touchpoint.The beauty of merging user interface design, communication design, development (front & backend), HTML5 and Drupal has blossomed into a brilliant touchpoint for SunEdison.
Our flexibility and agile working structure allowed for additional ad hoc pages to be developed throughout the process. Examples hereof are the ‘Alliance’ pages which show collaborations with schools and other organizations, or the ‘State Specific’ page where quotes can directly be revealed depending on zip codes entered. It’s smart coding to reveal smart answers for a smart energy choice. Additional internal functionality means that pages are editable for SunEdison employees.
Special effects and ongoing adaptations? Just what keeps us on our tiptoes. From a custom Christmas themed homepage to ongoing adaptation and new designs depending on different offers. We created coded templates (single pages) for SunEdison employees in order for them to add additional pages on their own.
From a marketing point of perspective, we facilitated SunEdison to approach residential customers for the first time. Other marketing assets include defining how seasonal and special offers are presented to customers. User interface and user experience design resulted in reduced complexity of forms and streamlined ‘call to actions’ on the entire site. We’re proud to reveal a highly engaging website experience that caters to both corporate and residential clients.
